A campaign called \u201cShotline\u201d has recreated the voices of school shooting victims to call for gun control.<\/p>\n
\u201cGuns silence thousands of innocent lives every year,\u201d the campaign\u2019s description reads<\/a>. \u201cUsing AI technology, we re-created the voices of those shot and killed by guns so they can call our representatives in hopes of changing our country\u2019s gun laws.\u201d<\/p>\n RedState reported<\/a> that the use of AI is \u201cchilling\u201d and \u201cbrings a new dimension to gun control advocacy \u2026 \u201c<\/p>\n According to Fox News<\/a>, the AI voices were sent to U.S. congressional leaders who support the National Rifle Association and Second Amendment rights to pressure them into adopting pro-gun control stances.<\/p>\n The efforts come as the Biden administration has pushed gun control efforts.<\/p>\n In September 2023, Biden announced<\/a> the executive Office of Gun Violence Prevention, pledging to use the office to \u201ccentralize, accelerate, and intensify\u201d the gun control push. He then called for an \u201cassault weapons\u201d ban, a \u201chigh capacity\u201d magazine ban, and universal background checks.<\/p>\n
