Welcome to\u00a0the official launch of my new blog home, The Bible for Normal People! Here\u2013I promise\u2013you will find all your questions answered, true inner peace, and possibly an out-of-body experience.<\/p>\n I will double post here and at Patheos one or two more times before the end of the week just to make sure the word gets out. On August 7, my\u00a0Patheos blog will become inactive.<\/p>\n All posts and most comments (though we are working on it) have been carried over to this site. We\u2019ll be doing some\u00a0tweaking on the site over the next week, too.<\/p>\n Let me say that I have had a WONDERFUL time blogging at Patheos. The team there is friendly, professional, and\u00a0supportive. They\u00a0gave me a forum to be me and I am grateful.<\/p>\n I began\u00a0blogging in 2008. I wanted\u00a0to express myself\u2013sure, why else do bloggers blog?\u2013but I also wanted to provide a platform for others like me\u00a0seeking more compelling and satisfying ways of\u00a0thinking about and expressing their Christian faith.<\/p>\n Especially as that faith relates to the Bible\u2013namely, what\u00a0is\u00a0<\/em>it, anyway, and what does it mean to read it well in our current moment\u00a0in space and time.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve tried to create a spirit of collaboration by inviting guest bloggers, posting book notes and other sorts of reviews, and by leaving my comment section about as wide open as you\u2019ll find out there (with minimal moderation\u2013gotta keep the crazies out<\/a>).<\/p>\n So, as fellow collaborators,\u00a0please poke around the website and tell me what you think<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0Is there anything\u00a0functional you\u2019d like to see added or adjusted? How\u2019s the navigation? Should we delete all pictures of me?\u00a0Let us know.<\/p>\n And by \u201cus\u201d I mean\u00a0email me<\/a>\u00a0or Jared Byas<\/a>. <\/em>Many of you know Jared\u00a0as a\u00a0guest blogger, and you\u2019ll be seeing more of him here as a regular contributor.
