They do this because they are either anti-Semitic or have confused their empathy for the Palestinian people with hatred for someone like me who holds empathy for both Israelis and Palestinians,\u201d\u00a0Matisyahu said in the statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rialto Executive Director Cathy Rivers issued a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/jewish-musician-has-2-shows-canceled-after-venues-staff-reportedly-refuse-to-work-his-events-islamophobic-and-transphobic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement\u00a0<\/a>denying that the abrupt cancellation had anything to do with \u201cpolitics or religion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Five different groups took credit for getting Matisyahu canceled in Sante Fe, claiming he is \u201can artist who is pro-apartheid and pro genocide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMatisyahu, a Jewish musician, had his performance cancelled simply because anti-Israel staffers boycotted his appearance, which had nothing to do with Israel. A textbook example of Anti-Zionism morphing into Antisemitism. Since when did performing while Jewish become grounds for cancellation in America?\u201d Rep.
