No agenda. No big point to make. This probably only applies to me, anyway.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not remotely ready for Holy Week.<\/p>\n

The fact is I\u2019ve been feeling quite overwhelmed the last few weeks, for a whole lot of reasons. I don\u2019t like all that whelming. Far too much whelming lately.<\/p>\n

Last week I spoke 5 times in 3 days at Eastern University\u2019s annual \u201cFaith Forum.\u201d \u00a0I spoke on my soon-to-be-released book\u00a0The Sin of Certainty<\/a>. <\/em>I did indeed have a wonderful time with the talking part, but the prep part was one big fat whelm.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m speaking clear across the country in a couple of weeks. Again: speaking = fun; prep and travel time = 2 whelms.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m behind in grading and am sort of generally winging everything.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_0642\"And there\u2019s this fence I\u2019ve been needing to get done, like, yesterday.<\/p>\n

And my wonder dog Gizmo got skunked and brought it into the house so I had to deskunk him and do laundry for\u00a02 days while catching up with school stuff and planning a fence. Several days of whelming.<\/p>\n

And I helped my daughter move into an apartment.<\/p>\n

And wouldn\u2019t you know it, new seasons of\u00a0House of Cards<\/em> and Daredevil<\/em>\u00a0are ready to binge watch\u2014plus\u00a0The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Vikings<\/em>.\u00a0When\u00a0<\/em>Game of Thrones\u00a0<\/em>starts up again I\u2019m not\u00a0sure how it\u2019s all going to work out. And don\u2019t get me started on March Madness and spring training baseball games on my phone or laptop whenever I want.<\/p>\n

And why does all this have to happen around Easter? Why can\u2019t Holy Week\u00a0be in a useless month like February\u2014in the 2 weeks between the Superbowl and when pitchers and catchers report.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I could go on. My point is that it\u2019s all been a bit too much lately, and I\u2019m trying very hard to do what I know I need to do . . .<\/p>\n

let\u00a0go,
stay in the moment, and
seek the Spirit\u2019s presence when and where I am, regardless.<\/p>\n

So on a day when I don\u2019t really feel like blogging, I\u2019m blogging telling you why.<\/p>\n

Getting into\u00a0Easter mode\u00a0at the moment\u00a0is hard\u2014like it\u2019s another\u00a0thing to do. But again, I\u2019m probably the only one.\"The Everyone else has their act together.<\/p>\n

And yet, I\u2019m pretty sure that Easter is relevant at times like this, intruding into my many whelms, trying to remind me that Easter isn\u2019t just another thing to do. It\u2019s not even just a yearly time of reflection.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a pattern of living that offers\u00a0a release from feeling overwhelmed\u2014a\u00a0daily pattern of living of losing your life to find it, of dying and rising.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still finding my way\u00a0there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
