{"id":10117,"date":"2024-02-16T17:53:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T12:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/16\/special-counsel-robert-hur-to-testify-before-congress\/"},"modified":"2024-02-16T17:53:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T12:23:38","slug":"special-counsel-robert-hur-to-testify-before-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/16\/special-counsel-robert-hur-to-testify-before-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Counsel Robert Hur to Testify Before Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_82\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Special Counsel Robert Hur will testify before Congress next month regarding his report on Joe Biden\u2019s mishandling of classified materials.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2858135\/robert-hur-testify-congress-march-12-biden-classified-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Washington Examiner<\/a>, Hur will appear before the House Judiciary Committee on March 12.<\/p>\n<p>Hur\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/justice-department-says-biden-willfully-withheld-documents-no-prosecution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> found that Biden \u201cwillfully\u201d withheld documents but will not be prosecuted because his memory was \u201csignificantly limited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Biden\u2019s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023,\u201d the report adds. \u201cAnd his cooperation with our investigation, including by reporting to the government that the Afghanistan documents were in his Delaware garage, will likely convince some jurors that he made an innocent mistake, rather than acting willfully \u2013 that is, with intent to break the law \u2013 as the statute requires.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Eiden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,\u201d Hur\u2019s report read. \u201cBased on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.
